civilized ku # 1034 ~ 2,300+ crazy people come to town
It's Lake Placid Ironman Sunday and during the 103 mile bike leg of the competition, the crazies ... er ... I mean "competitors" (some of them bleeding) arrive at the edge of Au Sable Forks (twice) and turn right around and keep on going. For some of them, that means to keep on going to the bitter end. For others, it means to keep on going 'till they can't keep on going anymore.
All I have to say is I wish I had the $5,000.00+ bicycle concession. Or, if I only had $0.40 for every $5,000.00+ bicycle in the competition, it would have at least paid for my bicycle.

I just thought I'd mention my fellow country man Cadel Evans (Australia) has won this year's Tour de France ... as part of the American team BMC.
