my response - For hundreds of years inverted national flags were commonly used as distress signals. For a variety of reasons that procedure has gone out of fashion.
Nevertheless, over the past decade I have, on quite a few 4th-of-July occasions, been displaying a pictured American flag (in an upside down fashion) as a statement regarding, IMO, the state of affairs in the US of A.
In this particular version thereof, the squirrel is an added visual and implied-meaning bonus inasmuch as things here in the US of A are getting really squirrelly.
As my friend, Scary Joey, says, "Be a-scared. Be very a-scared."
