2009 Ice Palace ~ Saranac Lake Winter Carnival • click to embiggenAs you might be able to tell from the "2009" sculpture, the ice palace was subjected to a significant warm spell (with rain) during carnival week. However, Ma Nature sucked it up, gave it her all and delivered a return to cold weather.

I'm guessing there were Ice Carvings. Myself, I haven't figured out how to get a decent shot as can't isolate the subject from the cluttered background.
