Michelle C. Parent ~ A man-ly oak

I was at Acadia NP in Maine last weekend (October 14/15). I was immediately drawn to this area across a bridge on a side road. The light was pure magic to me. I wandered around in this small area, taking a few photos, but nothing that pulled at my heart, but as I was leaving I turned back one more time and saw this oak in all his glory. I felt as though I was asked to take this photo. How could I resist?

The larger version of this is absolutely radiant Michelle! I can't take my eyes off that branch that's reaching out to the small conifer. I feel a certain transcendence here that I can't quite put a finger on. I'm very glad to know that you did what was asked of you....

How indeed? Mary's right, that reaching out --or almost presentation to the world-- is wonderful.

Thank you ladies! This was a special moment for me and I really feel that this is one of my best images. I saw that branch reaching out towards that small pine as I was taking this. I felt it was pointing it out, rather than grabbing for it as Lawrence saw it on NPN. Of all the images from that weekend, this is THE ONE, if you know what I mean.

Hey Michelle

I know this feeling and I know this place (in my soul and imagination)...it has a quiet "spirit of fact" about it that renders it true and real...
