About This Website

This blog is intended to showcase my pictures or those of other photographers who have moved beyond the pretty picture and for whom photography is more than entertainment - photography that aims at being true, not at being beautiful because what is true is most often beautiful..

There is a purity to natural happenstance. Things just happen. No reason. No meaning. No malice aforethought. Just being...a part of the eternal flow.

What I think is odd is how people can love to look at photos of dead trees, but abhor photos of dead animals. I don't see a difference. It is all death, whether it is a tree or an animal or an insect. It will happen to all of us. Just because a tree just falls down, doesn't make it any less of a death than an animal who killed by another, or dies from disease or hunger. They all end up as part of the soil where they lay in the end and it is all part of the flow.

The fallen tree looks as though it made the journey to the ground magically. To me the branches lokk as though they were barriers.
