Blue Spruce Motel ~ Keeseville, NY - in the Adirondack PARK • click to embiggenThere is strip of old motels on Rt. 9 just waiting to turn into ruins. Some are still open although serving primarily as residences for those who can afford nothing else. Some, like the Blue Spruce Motel, are closed and just waiting to turn into ruins.

The motels originally depended upon tourists who visited Au Sable Chasm which is about a mile down the road. While tourists still visit the chasm, few, if any, stay overnight in the area.

That said, I would have dearly loved to have seen (and pictured) the Blue Spruce Motel sign ablaze in its heyday. Must have been quite a sight.
