civilized ku # 1038-49 / picture window # 42 ~ an afternoon & evening in Montreal
Yesterday afternoon the wife and I went to Montreal where we were greeted by pouring rain. The wife needed to shop for some upholstery fabric. After purchasing the fabric we went to Old Montreal and acted like tourists.
The sun came out and our first stop was Notre-Dame de Bon-Secours Chapel where we climbed the steps to the tower for a great view of Old Monteal and the harbor/port. Then it was enjoying the nice weather with a walk down and back on Rue St. Paul Ouest.
Next, we dined at Cafe Forget - started with escargot, followed by a fruits de mer crepe for me and mushroom and asparagus crepe for the wife, and finished with a most delicious made-to-order warm apple pie that was a superb blend of a taste/hint of carnival funnel cake, fresh fruit, and caramelized apples. Absolutely delightful.
A cup of coffee later and it was back to the car - where a $52.00 parking ticket barely diminished the picture perfect sundown sky experience - and we headed back home.

Mark maybe you need some Quebec plates for when you are visiting
A lovely photo essay, I feel as if I was there too! I find it interesting that you are able to post so many images so soon after making them. I just don't like doing that, I don't have so much confidence in what I'm producing and need time to consider and tinker in order to reach an interpretation that I find pleasing.
Is it just me, or am I noticing more light to white colours in your images? The way your images retain the detail and tones in the whites is very appealing.
Are these images generally done as an exposure blend?
