Went to Binghamton this weekend to visit grad-school boy and see a minor league (AHL) hockey game wherein I rediscovered - and the wife discovered (since she had never attended a minor league game) - the joys of an $18 game ticket as opposed to one costing 10x as much in Montreal (NHL). Not to mention the fact that 2 minor league beers, aka - hockey water, can be had for less than 1/2 the cost of 1 big league beer.

It's probably time that we start considering attending some AHL games in Albany (when the "Baby" Pens are in town). Albany and the Albany Devils are only a 2 hour drive away and for the same cost, or less, as 2 tickets to an NHL game in Montreal (when the Pittsburgh Pens are in town), we can see a game, have dinner, and stay overnight in a hotel in Albany.

In any event, the only real downside to attending the game in Binghamton this past weekend was that there was another game going on that we missed.

Save an hour by coming to Glens Falls and see the our AHL team, the Phantoms, stay at the Queensbury Hotel and see the sites.
