This blog is intended to showcase my pictures or those of other photographers who have moved beyond the pretty picture and for whom photography is more than entertainment - photography that aims at being true, not at being beautiful because what is true is most often beautiful..

This may be my favorite post to date. Not the picture, but the commentary.
Square it, put a black border on it, fuzzify the corners and it reminds me of some of your stuff. The Park pictures (camping, canoeing with kid, & landscapes), Americana clapboard houses with US flags in AuSableForks, golf courses(with Sturm Stimmung) and country-styled restaurants in folksy log buildings. Those appeal to the masses, too, I suppose. Makes 'em Dreck as well?
Or is this Hobson just taking the piss?
Guess it's got all of the three "R's." Rainbow, red barn and recreational vehicle--how could it miss?
That is one of gravitas' photos - our friend is the development director (fund raiser) for an area independant living facility, and gravitas' offered a pic for the silent auction, and i insisted he provide on that was "pretty" and "appealing to people, like the one with the barn and the rainbow." It was a popular hit.
@ Jimmi: agreed.
