The Bronx / Washington Heights (?) ~ NY, NY • click to embiggenSomehow, someway Hugo and I ended up in the Bronx on our way home from South Jersey.
A clear-cut case of too many signs / not enough attention. One minute we're headed north on I95, next minute we're on the George Washington Bridge headed to NYC.

It looks to me like it might be Jerome Avenue in the Bronx. Washington Heights is in northern Manhattan just across the Harlem River from the western Bronx. When I was a kid we used to play in the buildings vacated to clear a path for the Cross Bronx Expressway (I-95 North). I'm glad that you and Hugo found your way back out.
I know the feeling. I just made a family reunion trip to Massachusetts last week. It's easier to wind up in the wrong line in that GW area.
