civilized ku # 513 ~ just shoot me, pt. II
I guess it mught be time for me to start posting caveats / disclaimers with some of my entries. Like .... say ... yesterday's just shoot me entry.
Maybe if I had posted something like this ....
This entry is not intended to defame, vilify, denigrate, or in any manner cast aspersions upon the personhood of Mike Johnston, the entity known as T.O.P., or any T.O.P. / Mike Johnston followers and admirers. The following entry is intended solely as a critique of / opinion regarding the usefulness of an article relative to its value in the cause of good picture making. Take it for what it's worth relative to your picture-making journey.
.... I would have been able to read less about oh-what-good-boy-is-Mike / oh-what-a-bad-boy-is-Mark.

I completely understand your position and why you might not find such discussion interesting. The comments you got were disappointing, if not entirely unexpected. Why can't internet dwellers realize that one can disagree with a point another makes without it being a personal attack, nor a general reflection of ones attitude towards them?
Too many dumb-asses with internet access."

I think we also need a cartoon of you shaking your fist at "those darned commenters!" hahahaha! I really enjoy reading this site sometimes. Don't get pouty, Johnston's just had a lot longer time to develop a loyal, and probably far less irreverent following than you.
Since my last request was fulfilled so nicely, next I want someone to make a road movie with the two of you. You two have to band together and head to the deep south to retrieve Robert Johnson's Brownie with an actual photo of the devil on it before the stock hollywood megalomaniac does.
I definitely see you as the Walter Matthau to his Jack Lemmon. It would be great. Throw in some "references" (deliberately ripped-off scenes) from Big Trouble in Little China, and you would have the greatest movie ever.
Somehow I don't think that any of this is going to put a ding in Marks armour.
An extra 2p worth (bit more than your 2c):

"Too many dumb-asses with internet access."
Hey, I resemble that remark!!!! >:(
If one can't take criticism or a little good-natured shit giving, don't run a blog.
Anyway, It was likely the tone of the original post that sent so many scrambling to Johnston's defense. I personally found his lens post of no use as well, but writing's a lot like hitting in baseball. You're gonna strike out sometimes.
The movie idea's still stellar. The Johnson vs JohnsTon meme alone is good for at least 15 minutes of screen time gold.
Okay, I'll stop now.
Perhaps people took exception to the sheer mean-spiritedness of your original post. This is my first visit to your blog; it will be the last. I don't need more evidence of the gradual decay of manners and standards.
