civilized ku # 702 ~ Autumn color # 21 and killer fry cakes

Leaf covered picnic table ~ Eagle Bay, NY - in the Adirondack PARK • click to embiggenIMO, a trip through the central Adirondacks is not complete without a stop at The Eagle Bay Donut Shop. Their cinnamon donuts are to die for. The shop has been in business since 1966 and I've been eating their donuts since, you guessed it, 1966.

FYI, you know it's a great donut / fry cake when, before you have traveled a mile down the road with a bag of their fry cakes (just like grandma used to make), the bag becomes saturated with cooking fat/grease ... hey, I said they were to die for.
