Just got back from a trip to our local Everything U Need For a Great Life franchise and I have to say that the wife and I were so overwhelmed with the feelings of grace and superiority that were bestowed upon us by the clarity and detail of 1080 HD TV that we couldn't settle for just 1, so we purchased 2.

What an epiphany. Screw truth and the real lo-def world. I may never leave the house again.

Hmm, an EP-1, followed by 2 HDTVs. Well, no one can accuse you of not doing your part to help consume the economy out of this hole we're in! I'd better get busy...

What'd you do, win the lottery or something? Now all you need is a blu-ray disc player and you can buy the movie shown in your image ("Up"). I'm not big on animated flicks but that's a really, really good one.

Oh, and the "real world" is only "low def" if your eyesight sucks. By the way, do you get hi def cable up there in the boonies? Or do you have to use satellite?

It may be a consumer society, but you must admit that the toys are nice.

I went from a 15 year old 29" Sony CRT Trinitron TV to a Sony 46" HD LCD last year and yes, even for a grumpy guy like me I have to admit it's a significant leap in technology I wouldn't be without. It uses a quarter of the power that my old CRT used as well. Not an environmently friendly purchase, but on the good side I use my car less now that I actually can enjoy watching TV...

I for one think that from now on that "The Wife" should refer to herself as "The Trophy Wife" when posting to this blog. Secondly, I believe that I deserve an HD flat panel for my brilliant suggestion.

Sony or Samsung? 120Hz? The choices are a bit overwhelming.
