This blog is intended to showcase my pictures or those of other photographers who have moved beyond the pretty picture and for whom photography is more than entertainment - photography that aims at being true, not at being beautiful because what is true is most often beautiful..

Gravitas really messed up the framing of this image. If you look very closely, through the arch on the next street, there is a spot of orange. It was a lovely assembly of pumpkins in a sunny court yard, framed by an arch with an open iron gate. That is the legitimate image which could be seen and was clearly meant to be pictured that day. Unfortunately, gravi did not zoom in close enough, and the foreground is filled with asphalt, a parked car and a brick wall, which obscure what it was really like.
The long suffering wife.
And he takes a hard uppercut to the stomach...
Love it!
fwiw, I like this image!
He's lost five rectangles too.
I count 4.
The asymmetry of this gives me a real sense of unease. The others from Montreal seem to resolve nicely and encourage me to linger, this one I cannot look at for any length of time before I need to go do something else.
At least your wife is currently only providing gentle teasing. Yesterday I offered an image up to my wife to see what she thought of it. 'It makes me physically ill' was the reply, as she quickly left the room.
I'm taking some solace in the fact that it at least provoked a real reaction and response.
