I'm just trying to figure out what a night picture made with the light of a full moon should look like.

This is an exquisite image Mark. Is the orange glow created by the sun setting or another source of light? I see what appear to be a few stars in the large version and some other very interesting details that aren't apparent in the small version.

@Mary: The light source (sources, in fact) appear to be sodium vapor street lamps. They're both just above the fence--one to the left of center and one near the right edge.

Excellent point. I recently purchased Jill Waterman's new book on night and low light photography. I'm enjoying the book, but as I look at a number of the photos I keep wondering, "except for a few star trails, if the end result looks like it was taken in normal daylight, what's the point?"
