FYI - Can photographers be plagiarists?
Thanks to the wife for this link which, at its root, is an interesting take on the notion of originality in the medium of photography. Check it out (and then maybe leave a comment).
My thought is to quote here (again) a good take on the notion of originality by a fictitious preacher (from a dime-store detective novel I read recently), who, when accused of not being very original sermon-wise, stated, "I milk a lot of cows, but I churn my own butter."

It sure seems like such can be the case...For example: Golden Hour + Moving Rock @ "the racetrack", Death Valley + ultra wide angle lens + 2 or 3 stop GND. How many of these have you seen? Yikes. There's many examples I can think of, especially relating to landscape "icon" photography. Can photographers become walking copying machines? I sure think so.
Good point, Joel. How many workshops return over and over to the same locations? Mono Lake? Bodie, CA? The Narrows in Zion? Clingman's Dome in Smokey NP? etc. etc. etc. Too many photographers chasing the same few images? Do we need a moratorium on "spectacular" landscapes? Any real difference to the "stand here" signs at Disneyworld for the P&S crowd to get one like the post card?
