ku # 458 ~ Ice Castle reprise

icecastlesq.jpg

Just thought I'd repost this photograph because: 1.) I really, really, really like it. 2.) It looks better at the the top of the page than a bunch of copy. If you want to see it larger, click on it in the winter carnival entry below.

Mark, I think you're right. Among other things this photograph is about space. The red coat in the foreground comes forward and the blueish castle goes backward. The bigger the picture, the stronger the effect will be.
Great picture.
(I really envy you because your winter. We have the warmest winter for decades. Boring.)

Mark, it is a wonderful photo. It's Hugo in the foreground, right? His posture, size, and shadow size in relation to the castle are profoundly meaningful.

BTW, when I click on the version in "winter carnival" to embiggen it, a window 750 x 763 pixels opens, but the image is only about 400 x 400 pixels. Bigger please!

Hey Jaap and Kent - Thanks for the comments and feedback, and, yes, that is Hugo in the red jacket.

Both of your comments, simple and direct as they are, have helped me understand why I really, really, really like this photograph - which, BTW, has very little to do with Hugo's presence in the photograph.

Thanks again.
