So Last Year
This is out the back door, but really only gives a bit of the effect. There's something rather delightful about a blanket of leaves in the yard (until they have to be removed.) We've got a few trees around the house, and this is what they give us on a yearly basis. Even my brother-in-law, who has seen pretty much everything, was impressed with our annual crop of leaves.
A tad of Scheimflugin' to get the slope into focus. Sean, it must be contagious: I had to turn up the SATURATION slightly. Does this work at this size?

Hey Kent - while this not (for me) a 'killer' pictue, I much prefer this view of fall to the pretty as a picture single leaf on a log/ rock / whatever images that predominate in the camera-club forums.
thanks for posting this.
Thanks Mark. Not that I mind the criticism, but is there such a thing as a "killer" leaf picture?
Is this the pretty picture you were thinking of?
Kent,
This makes me want to walk through, kicking up the leaves, smelling that lovely fall smell, and enjoying the crackle and rustle sounds.
Michelle, there is something about a covering of leaves that entices us to run and roll, isn't there? It was the complete coverage that so delighted me in this view, for nothing was staged to get the effect. All I had to do was pick a spot and set up the camera.
I don't think it's possible to ever have too much texture in an image. That and your red leaves contrast nicely with the white snow we've had for several weeks now.
Wanna trade?
Sean, I think I'll stick with the 70 degree weather we had early this week. But I'll do a print swap if you're interested.
