From the Edge - Jim Jirka
The "Frosted Marsh" series co-exists with my series "From the Edge". Both series view the beauty of nature from the edge of a frosted marsh, forest, lake etc...
What do you think. Are the series cohesive enough to stand together? Comments, commentary and lively discussions are vigorously encouraged.

Hey Jim,
these last few posts are simply exquisite and, without a doubt, they constitute a cohesive / stand-together body of work.
I can't really give you anymore than that right now as I am re-organizing my thoughts about the 'instrumentalization of photography in the broader context of art production.' at the moment to include 'a deep awareness of both the technical conditions of photographic production, and the concomitant conceptual implications of these technical processes'.
I want to be able to 'advanced a medium-specific discourse that mines the rich territory between fact and facture, process and product, form and content, sign and signified.'
Seriously. I really mean it.
More fabulous material Jim. Although I find the diptich too small to get any detail. The complexity of the compositions, and once again the muted light really signifies the "Jirka" look. Thanks for going out in the woods on these cold mornings and bringing these photos back to show us.
